Who we are

What data we process, and why
- Members and athletes: name, contact details, date of birth, athlete licence details, medical certificates — for registration, training and racing and our obligations to the Hellenic Sailing Federation (HSF/ΕΙΟ) and the authorities. Basis: the membership / athlete relationship and the club’s legal obligations.
- Race results: name, class, sail number, position — as published on the organisers’ official notice boards and on this website, to report on sporting activity.
- Photos and video: from races, training and events, for the website, social media and club news. Basis: consent — for minors, of the parent or guardian; for adults, their own.
- Contact form: name, e-mail and message, only to answer you.
- Visits: cookie-less statistics without personal identification. The site sets no tracking cookies. Embedded videos (YouTube, privacy-enhanced mode) are loaded from Google and are subject to its policy.
Consent and minors
For minor athletes, consent for data, photos and video is given by the signature of the parent or guardian on the registration form. Adult athletes and members give their own consent on their application. When entering a race, participants accept, under the Notice of Race, that the organiser may use their name and image.
Publication
Names and photos may be used publicly — on the website, social media and club announcements — where the adult or guardian has signed the corresponding declaration. We never publish addresses, phone numbers, social-security or ID numbers of athletes and members.
Who receives data
The Hellenic Sailing Federation (HSF/ΕΙΟ), the Hellenic Offshore Racing Committee (ΕΑΘ), organisers of races you enter, and public authorities where required. The HSF processes the data passed to it as its own controller, under its own information to athletes, to which the athlete registration form refers. We do not sell data.
The website and the club’s electronic files are hosted on servers in the European Union of Contabo GmbH, which acts as processor on behalf of the club under an agreement required by article 28 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
When we use third-party services — Google (e-mail, YouTube) and Meta (Facebook, Instagram) — the data passing through them is also governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
How long we keep data
For as long as the person is a member or athlete and then for as long as the law requires or to protect the club’s rights. Results and race history are kept as the club’s historical record. Data based on your consent (for example photos) is removed when you withdraw it.
Your rights
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability. You may withdraw consent at any time — for instance ask us to remove a name or a photo — by e-mailing iopatra@gmail.com; we will handle it without delay. You may also complain to the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (www.dpa.gr).
